Congress today attacked the government over lowering of EPF interest rates and said it reflected the Modi dispensation's "anti-poor and pro-rich" stand.
Congress spokesman Raj Babbar said the party would launch an agitation if Finance Ministry failed to reconsider the decision which will hit hard the poor and the middle class.
Central trade unions have called for a nationwide protest on April 29 over the move to reduce EPF interest rate to 8.7 per cent, 10 basis points lower than decided by Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
