Monkey rips off baby's testicle and eats it in China

In a horrific attack, a monkey ripped off an eight-month-old baby's testicles at a Chinese zoo before running off and eating it as the boy's helpless mother watched in horror.

The toddler was reportedly having his diaper changed by his mother at Qianling Wildlife Park, Guiyang, in south west China, when the monkey brutally attacked him.

Chinese media reported that the monkey pounced on the youngster and hacked off a chunk of his genitals.

An old man reportedly tried to retrieve the testicle from the animal, but it was chewed beyond repair. The boy was then rushed to a hospital, 'Shanghaiist' reported.
 

According to doctors, the child's injuries are not life-threatening but his future reproductive functions will be greatly affected, the report said.

Park officials urged tourists to avoid the monkeys, which have been involved in several instances of wounding visitors in the past, though nothing so extreme.

Monkey numbers at the zoo have reportedly rocketed in the past few years.
