Monsoon normal in Bihar, Met forecasts rains tomorrow

With south west monsoon normal in Bihar in the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall occurred at many places in the state.

As per the Met office bulletin, Gaya recorded 9.8 mm of rainfall, while Bhagapur registered 0.4 mm during the day.

Gaya recorded the highest rainfall at 30 mm among the major cities, followed by 3 mm rainfall in Bhagalpur and 1.4 mm in Patna in the past 24 hours (recorded between 8.30 am on Friday to 8.30 am on Saturday),it said.

Places like Rosera (Samastipur), Sherghati (Gaya) and Minapur (Muzaffarpur) received 11 cm, 10 cm and 7 cm of rainfall respectively in the past 24 hours, the Met office said.
 

Bhagalpur and Purnea recorded the highest maximum temperature at 35.5 degrees celsius, followed by 35 degrees in Patna and 32.6 degrees in Gaya.

The absence of rainfall in Patna increased the maximum temperature from yesterday's 30.2 degrees C to 35 degrees C today with the humidity level at around 80 per cent both in the morning and evening.

The Met office said that Patna, Bhagalpur and Purnea may witness generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunder shower tomorrow while Gaya is expected to witness generally cloudy sky with intermittent rain.
