Moon begins term as S Korea president: Election Commission

Left-leaning former human rights lawyer Moon Jae-In began his five-year term as president of South Korea today morning after winning a landslide victory in polls a day before, the National Election Commission said.
Moon, of the Democratic Party, took 41.1 per cent of the votes, far ahead of Conservative Hong Joon-Pyo, his closest rival on 24.03 per cent.
His inauguration ceremony is due to take place at the National Assembly at midday (0300 GMT), the Yonhap news agency reported.
