Spiritual leader Morari bapu today distributed cheques worth Rs 7.5 crore among 2313 people affected by last year's calamity in Uttarakhand at a programme held at Agastyamuni.
Most of the beneficiaries belonged to Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts, an official release here said.
Besides, he also submitted a cheque of Rs one crore to the Badri-Kadarnath temple committee through Chief Minister Harish Rawat for reconstruction work around Kedarnath shrine which bore the brunt of the calamity.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Harish Rawat and Kedarnath MLA Shailarani Rawat expressed gratitude to the spiritual leader for his kind gesture towards the flood-hit people of the state.
"We are grateful to the saint for extending a helping and to the calamity-hit people of the state," Rawat said.
