More than 700 schools, 4k classrooms constructed in 3 yrs: JK

The Jammu and Kashmir government today said it constructed more than 700 schools and four thousand classrooms in Kashmir over the last three years.

Out of 717 schools, 654 primary and 63 middle schools have been constructed along with 4,379 classrooms, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, the state education minister, informed the legislative council.

Replying to a question, the minister said 3,039 primary and middle schools in the state are being run in rented buildings. Majority of them are in cities and towns as the cost of construction there is very high.
