Haryana Finance Minister Abhimanyu today said more than 95 per cent Aadhaar cards have been issued in the state.
The state government is also preparing a database of every citizen, he said at a function to mark the 11th National Statistics Day in Panchkula.
"Haryana is also the first state where Aadhaar cards are being issued to every child at birth. Efforts are being made to make available data of the state's 44,212 square kilometer area for optimal land use," Abhimanyu said.

Paying tribute to Prof Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis, the father of statistical science in India, he said statistical data is required for the formulation and implementation of any development scheme.
"The realisation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to give 127 crore people of the country access to financial services through banks, has been made possible by the use of statistics," Abhimanyu said.
Highlighting the significant contribution made by Mahalanobis in preparation of the second Five Year Plan, he said new schemes based on those started by the statistician are now being implemented.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Finance and Planning Department, P Raghavendra Rao, also spoke on the occasion.
