Mother and son duo booked for forcibly feeding poison to wife

A mother and son who allegedly forcefed poison to a married housewife have been booked by the Virar police last night, a police official said here today.

Assistant police inspector B P Bhoir of the Virar police station who preferred not to identify names of the accused told PTI that the duo allegedly harassed the housewife aged 33 years, after she failed to conceive and did not get money from her parents as per their demands.

According to the complaint lodged last night, on July 6, her mother-in-law held her mouth open, while her husband poured poison into her mouth.
 

The duo have been charged under Section 307 and Section 498A read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code the police official said, adding that no arrest have been made so far.
