The Guna district administration has asked 95 village panchayats of the district to deposit Rs two crore by tomorrow for allegedly committing irregularities of as much amount in various construction works, a senior official said today.

District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Niyaz Ahmed has asked for the deposit after detecting irregularities committed by these local bodies to the tune of the same amount two days back.

These panchayats have been committing irregularities in construction of school buildings and annexes since the financial year 2007-08, Ahmad said.

He said that notices have been served on 95 panchayats secretaries and sarpanchs asking them to deposit Rs two crore with the district administration, failing which FIR would be registered against them in concerned police stations.
