The Madhya Pradesh High Court today restrained police from arresting state Cricket Association's former Joint Secretary and Women Under-19 selection committee's convener Alpesh Shah in a sexual harassment case till the probe is completed.

Justice N K Modi also directed Shah to fully cooperate with the police.

Shah has approached the court seeking quashing of the FIR.

A young woman cricketer has alleged that Shah asked her to visit him in the Administrative Block of the Holkar stadium on September 23 and behaved in an "obscene manner" with her.

Shah quit the MPCA post on November 27 when the allegations surfaced. Police have filed a case under section 354 (outraging modesty of woman) under the Indian Penal Code.

According to his lawyer, the woman filed a false complaint, because she was not selected in the U-19 squad.
