MP: life sentence for couple for murder

A court in Sabalgarh town in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh has awarded life sentence to a couple for murdering a relative.

Additional sessions judge R R Badodia sentenced Chandrabhan Singh and Anita Singh yesterday to life imprisonment for killing Jankibai, the wife of Chandrabhan's younger brother, on February 16, 2010.

Additional Public Prosecutor Ramesh Varma said the court also imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 each on them.

According to the prosecution, Chandrabhan and Anita had a spat with Jankibai after she demanded that they return her jewellery. They strangulated her and later disposed of the body, Varma said.
