A bag containing documents of Vijay Sampla, BJP MP from Punjab's Hoshiarpur constituency, was snatched by a man when his train was about to reach the national capital here this morning, police said.
The accused, identified as Ranbeer, was arrested within hours of the incident and the bag with all the documents recovered.
"Sampla was travelling in Ajmer-Haridwar Express to Delhi when his train slowed down as it was about to reach New Delhi Railway Station's platform and Ranbeer snatched Sampla's bag which contained some documents and I-card and jumped off the train and fled," said a senior police official.
The MP soon approached the police which acted promptly and nabbed the accused.
