The body of an Army jawan, who was killed in an operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir last week, was today cremated with full military honours at his ancestral Rev village in Madhya Pradesh's Datia district.
Ranjeet Singh Tomar, a soldier of the 28 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the Army, died in the operation in Kupwara district on July 6.
A large crowd, comprising military personnel and civilians, assembled today to pay homage to the soldier. It included Narottam Mishra, the state's Public Relations and Water Resources Minister, who is also the MLA from Datia.
Chouhan also announced the installation of a statue of the soldier in the village.
