A tribal couple was today killed in an IED explosion in their hut in Piparva village here.
"Udaram Bhil (40) and Narmada (25), both labourers, were blown to pieces in the explosion. Parts of the IED and the trigger were recovered from their hut. We are probing how it landed in the hut...We are tracing their antecedents," Superintendent of Police Tarun Nayak said.
The incident follows a massive blast at Petlawad in Jhabua district that left 89 dead a week ago.
A team of forensics and a bomb disposal squad were called in from Ratlam. Preliminary investigation showed that it was an IED blast, the SP said.
Top district officials rushed to the village, 80 kms from the district headquarters.
Further investigation was on, Nayak said.
