MTNL Q2 net loss at Rs 768.32 cr

State-run telecom firm MTNL today reported a standalone net loss of Rs 768.32 crore for the quarter ended on September 30, 2016, against that of Rs 730.35 crore in the same period a year ago.
Net revenue from operations declined to Rs 729.2 crore during the said quarter from Rs 774.18 crore in the corresponding period of 2015-16.
The company's revenues from both mobile and landline services were lower in the quarter compared to the year-ago period.
Its expenses included Rs 699 crore in employee benefits, Rs 57.98 crore in revenue sharing and Rs 65.61 crore in licence fee and spectrum charges.
