A metropolitan magistrate's court here today deferred the hearing on a plea seeking non-bailable warrant against the Gurgaon police officials in the Sandeep Gadoli encounter death case.

Gadoli, an alleged gangster from Haryana, was shot dead by Gurgaon police in an alleged encounter in a hotel here in February this year.

The special investigation team of Maharashtra police, which is probing the encounter -- Gadoli's relatives have alleged it was fake -- has moved the magistrate's court seeking NBW against the Gurgaon police officials.

The SIT has alleged that the Gurgaon police were not cooperating with the probe.

"The magistrate deferred the hearing, directing us to produce some documents including the FIR, and posted the case for May 26," a police official said.
