The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, held on January 19, raised over Rs 20 crore for charity, the organisers said today.
This year's marathon broke all previous charity records with the highest number of donors, donations and participants supporting a cause, a release said here.
The event helped raise Rs 20.11 crore, benefiting 269 NGOs, and also helped the funds raised for charity since the race's inception in 2004 to cross the Rs 100-crore mark, the total amount being Rs 109 crore.
This was possible through the support of 171 participating companies and their employees, 1,254 fundraisers and 14,742 individual donors, it added.
