President Pranab Mukherjee today condoled the death of Hero MotoCorp patriarch and doyen of Indian two-wheeler industry Brijmohan Lall Munjal and said the nation has lost a stalwart whose human touch endeared him to all.
In his condolence message to his son Sunil, the President termed Munjal as an "iconic figure and eminent industrialist" and said he was known for his hard-work, vision and immense contribution to the Indian two-wheeler industry.
"His entrepreneurial abilities resulted in Hero MotoCorp becoming a benchmark for the rest of Indian industry. For his exemplary contribution in the field of trade and industry, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2005. In his death, the nation has lost a stalwart whose human touch endeared him to all," he said in his message.
Munjal passed away on Sunday after a brief illness. He was 92.
