Muslims welcome Hindu religious procession in TN town

In a show of communal amity, Muslims of a locality here today welcomed a religious procession organised by the Hindus as part of a local temple festival, in line with a long-standing tradition.

"We will also honour them with a shawl. We may be Hindus and Muslims..But we live unitedly and address each other as if we are relatives..We celebrate the Hindu and Muslim festivals together", organiser of the procession Angusamy said.

Members of Pasipattarai Jamad welcomed the 'Mulaipari' procession, organised as part of the Goddess Mariamman temple here with religious honours.

Angusamy said every year the Muslims in the area would welcome the procession with religious honours.
