Mustard weakens on subdued local demand

Mustard oil prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today on slackened demand from local parties against sufficient stocks.

However, other edible and non-edible oils moved in a tight range in scattered deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said besides sluggish demand from local parties demand, adequate stocks in the market mainly kept pressure on mustard oil prices.

In the national capital, mustard expeller (Dadri) oil fell by Rs 100 to Rs 7,050 per quintal. Mustard pakki and kachi ghani oils also traded lower by Rs 20 each to Rs 1,200-1,250 and Rs 1,250-1,350 per tin, respectively.
 

Following are today's quotations (in Rs per quintal):

Oilseeds: Mustardseed Rs 2,950-3,050 and Groundnutseed Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) Rs 930-1,070.

Edible oils: Groundnut Mill Delivery (Gujarat) Rs 8,700, Groundnut Solvent Refined (per tin) Rs 1,625-1,675, Mustard expeller (Dadri) Rs 7,050, Mustard Pakki Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,200-1,250, Mustard Kachi Ghani (per tin) Rs 1,250-1,350, sesame mill delivery Rs 8,000, Soyabean Refined Mill Delivery (Indore) Rs 6,650, Soyabean Degum (Kandla) Rs 6,350, Crude Palm Oil (Ex-Kandla) Rs 4,300, Cottonseed Mill Delivery (Haryana) Rs 5,600, Palmolein (RBD) Rs 5,650, Palmolein (Kandla) Rs 5,550 and Coconut (per tin) Rs 2,375-2,425.

Non-edible oils: Linseed Rs 8,300, Castor Rs 9,850-9,950, Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
