Mustardseed futures traded lower by Rs 70 to Rs 4,298 per quintal as speculators trimmed positions amid a weak trend at the spot markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, mustardseed prices for delivery in far-month dropped by Rs 70, or 1.60 per cent to Rs 4,298 per quintal, with an open interest of 940 lots.
Also, mustardseed delivery in July contracts dipped by Rs 47, or 1.13 per cent to Rs 4,109 per quintal with an open interest of 23,060 lots, while most-active August contracts was down by Rs 47, or 1.12 per cent to Rs 4,418 per quintal and open interest stood of 76,400 lots.
Marketmen attributed the fall in mustardseed prices in futures trade to a weak trend at the spot markets due to slack demand from oil mills.
