Muted demand drags down cardamom futures by 0.21 pc

Cardamom prices drifted lower by 0.21 per cent to Rs 1,310 per kg in futures trade today as participants trimmed positions amid easing spot demand.
Besides, adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May fell by Rs 2.70, or 0.21 per cent to Rs 1,310 per kg in a business turnover of 2 lots.
Marketmen said, offloading of positions by participants owing to tepid demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position, mainly influenced cardamom prices at futures trade.
