Cardamom prices fell by 0.62 per cent to Rs 1,162 per kg in futures market today as traders lightened their positions to book profits amid easing demand at the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November eased by Rs 7.20, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 1,162 per kg, in a business turnover of 13 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in October weakened by Rs 4.90, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 1,142.50 per kg in 33 lots.
Traders said offloading of positions by participants amid sluggish demand at the spot market against adequate stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts mainly led to the decline in cardamom prices in futures trade.
