Myanmarese national caught with ganja

A Myanmarese national has been caught by the Army in Manipur after he was found possessing 3.5 kgs of ganja, a Defence official said here today.

Troops of the Red Shield Division apprehended a person identified as Mangliankhup from Manipur's Churachandpur district yesterday, Defence PRO Lt Col Ajay Kumar Sharma said.

The man, who was found to be a resident of Pangjang in Myanmar, was carrying 3.5 kg of the contraband substance.

He is being handed over to the police for further action, the official said.
