Mysore Royal scion Wodeyar passes away

Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wodeyar, scion of the erstwhile Mysore royal family, died of a massive cardiac arrest at a private hospital here today.

Wodeyar (60) was brought in a "non-responsive" state and attempts to resuscitate him did not succeed, sources at Vikram Hospital, where he was rushed, said.

Wodeyar was only recently elected as President of Karnataka State Cricket Association in a hotly contested election.

He had also represented Mysore Lok Sabha constituency.
