Delhi BJP today accused the AAP government of supporting "anti-nationals" in JNU and engaging in corruption, and claimed that the myth around the Arvind Kejriwal-led party was "busting".
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of executive meeting of the Delhi BJP, its president Satish Upadhyay, without naming anyone, raised questions over those who allegedly drew comparison between Bhagat Singh and JNU students' leader Kanhaiya Kumar.
"The myth of the experiment of AAP government is busting. Their corruption, attitude, the way they are working, their support to anti-nationals in JNU, all these issues need to be raised among public. Nationalism is our priority. It is wrong if we compare Bhagat Singh with Kanhaiya Kumar and mislead students," Upadhyay said.
During the meeting, a resolution on current political situation in the national capital, incorporating 59 amendments, was passed by the party which accused the AAP of "working unconstitutionally".
"The Delhi Government is working unconstitutionally. They are not allowing democracy to function, harassing bureaucrats, abusing central government, it has not kept its 70 promises and also misusing hefty funds on advertisement," he alleged.
Upadhyay said the party will reach out to people to inform them about the programmes undertaken by BJP-led central government, which he added, has given a "very progressive" budget (for 2016-17) having "far-reaching" effects, especially for farmers.
He said, during the meeting, party MPs and representatives from municipal corporations shared their report cards.
Also he said the Delhi BJP has worked out programmes to celebrate death/birth anniversaries of leaders like Dr BR Ambedkar, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Deendayal Upadhyay, and also celebrate 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.
Later in a statement, Upadhyay said Delhi ministers and ruling party MLAs have become "synonyms" with corruption and anarchism.
Claiming that Delhi's youth was "completely" disappointed with the city government for their failure to give educational loan or build new school/colleges, he said the same was evident during DUSU and JNU polls.
"The candidates of nationalist organisation ABVP registered unprecedented success," he said.
Upadhyay also claimed that farmers here were disappointed with the Kejriwal regime as it has not paid them compensation for loss of crops due to last year's unseasonal rains.
BJP's Delhi unit in-charge Shyam Jaju alleged that AAP government has become a refuge of anti-social and anarchist elements.
