Governor of Nagaland P B Acharya today paid his tributes to the World War-II heroes at the Commonwealth War Cemetery here.

The Governor laid a wreath in honour of the brave soldiers of the British Regiments and Indian units, who laid down their lives in the battle of Kohima.

"Sacrifice for the country is the greatest thing that one can aspire to give to the country," Acharya said and expressed that the battle of Kohima had indeed decided the course of history for the world as well as for India.

The War Cemetery should ever be the example of sacrifice to all and should be a place of inspirations for selfless sacrifice in our service to the country, the Governor added.
