Hitting out at the BJP over the ongoing debate on nationalism, CPI today said the issue is being raised to divert people's attention from "failures" of the NDA government at the Centre.
The debate on nationalism is an attempt to divert people's attention from important issues like drought, price rise and unemployment, CPI General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy alleged.
"Who are you to introduce this new scale (on nationalism)? How can you, who support corporates, be patriots? All this is a third rate attempt to divert public attention from drought, price rise, unemployment, their failures, and waning popularity. It has nothing to do with nationalism," he told reporters here.
