A 29-year-old Naval sailor attached to the Southern Naval Command here, allegedly slit his wife's throat before hanging himself at Neerikkod at Alangad in North Paravur, police said.
The sailor, Sanalkumar, was found hanging from a fan of their room, while his wife, Siji, a teacher at IHRD college at Puthenvelikkara, was found dead with her throat slit in the same room, police said. The couple were staying at the house of Siji's parents.
The two had got married a year ago.
The bodies were found yesterday. Siji's parents and brother opened the window of the room and found them dead.
Naval sources said a departmental inquiry will be held in the incident.
