Navjot Kaur Sidhu, Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Health & Family Welfare) of Punjab Government, today raided a godown in Sunder Nagar area here and seized huge quantity of tobacco products banned in the state.
The raid was conducted on the basis of various complaints and a cache of 100 gunny bags of various brands of tobacco products were seized.
"Various complaints had been received from all parts of the country to ban these products. Maximum tobacco items are being manufactured in Punjab's Maur Mandi and nearby states and transported throughout the country," Sidhu said.
Sidhu, wife of BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu, said that strict action would be initiated as per law.
