Naxal killed in encounter with police in Chhattisgarh

A Naxal was today killed in an encounter with police in a forest near Munga Mankeli village in the insurgency-hit Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.

The encounter took place after the Naxals fired on a police patrolling party, a police officer told PTI.

The body of the Naxal, killed in the encounter, was found at the site. A country-made revolver and a muzzle-loading gun was also seized, the officer said.

More information will be available after the police team returns from the area, he said.
