Naxals kill man in Maharashtra

A 31-year-old man was today killed allegedly by Naxals in Aheri tehsil of the district, police said.

The ultras dragged one Venkatesh Atram, on suspicion of being a police informer, from his house in Rajaram Khandla village and murdered him, a release from Gadchiroli police said.

Atram was a civilian and not a police informer, it said.

A case under relevant sections of IPC was registered and anti-Naxals operations have been intensified in the area, the release added.
