NCC should be made mandatory, says Manipur governor

Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla today said that National Cadet Corps (NCC) should be made mandatory for every student as it brings them closer and is a step towards national integration.

Addressing a gathering of NCC cadets here, Heptulla said that she would speak to the state government and the defence ministry on this.

Sharing her experience of her visit to Israel in 2000, Heptulla said it was compulsory for everybody to do national service there.
