Demanding a roll back of the recent hike in water and property tax, NCP workers staged a protest in the chamber of city Mayor Pravin Datke in the BJP-ruled Nagpur Corporation.
Led by NCP city unit president Ajay Patil yesterday, slogan-shouting party workers barged into the chamber of the Mayor to press their demand.
They then submitted a memorandum stating that the "steep hike" in taxes cast a huge financial burden on the people and it went against the promises and claims of the civic unit authorities.

The memorandum claimed the dream of a litter-free city had been shattered and the much-touted 24x7 water supply scheme was a total failure.
Party corporators Kamil Ansari, Pragati Patil, Duneshwar Pethe, Raju Nagulwar, Seema Raut, Shabbir Ahmad and other local leaders participated in the protest.
