Former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid today took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his surprise stop over in Pakistan, saying "flipflop" could be the nickname of his government and wondered what had happened of late that he took such a leap of faith.

Another Congress leader Manish Tewari taunted the government, saying if Pakistan had agreed to return those parts of Kashmir which are illegally occupied by it.

He alleged that some private business interest played a role in the visit as he claimed that a steel magnate was involved as a "go-between" for the two prime ministers.

"Has something changed dramatically over the last four weeks that gave him (Modi) this window? Or has he taken a leap of faith that despite everything being negative he felt he wants to give it a chance. Flipflop could be a nickname for the NDA government. They do flipflop everyday," Khurshid said.

Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar also criticised the government and sought to know what had happened since the Modi government had put some conditions for talks that the prime minister changed his mind.

He suggested that Modi was "pressurised" by world leaders like Barack Obama, David Cameron and Francois Hollande whom he had met recently.
