NDFB(S) militant killed in operation

A hardcore NDFB(S) militant was killed early today in an encounter with a joint team of the Army and Assam Police in Kokrajhar district.

Troops of the Army's Red Horns Division and Assam Police carried out the operation in Akshiguri area, a defence spokesperson said in a release.

When team members challenged the militant, he started firing and was killed in retaliatory firing.

A pistol and some ammunition were recovered from the spot, the release said.
