The North Eastern Hill University Teachers Association has petitioned President Pranab Mukherjee, seeking an enquiry against the University Vice Chancellor and Registrar for allegedly forging official documents pertaining to the university.

"We request you to institute an enquiry against the Vice Chancellor and the registrar for forging the official documents," North Eastern Hill University Teachers' Association president Prof X P Mao said in a letter to the President, who is also the Visitor of the Central University, earlier this week.

The Vice Chancellor S K Srivastava had allegedly 'misrepresented' the MHRD of the minutes of the emergent executive council meet in May this year on matters related to repeal the Ordinance that allows the employees to enjoy the Hills Area Special Allowances (HASA) since January 1995.

"The minutes sent to the MHRD are totally different and in contradictory in nature against the resolution of the Executive Council indicating the wilful concealment and deliberate misrepresentation of facts by NEHU officials," Prof Mao said.
