A four-year-old girl was allegedly sodomised by her 25-year-old neighbour in Khadan locality, police said today.
The incident took place in Mahatma Phule Nagar last evening when Sumedh Sirsat (25) lured the minor from her play courtyard and brought her into his house, where he forcibly brutalised her, they said.
Injured, the girl informed her mother following which the accused was roughed up by parents and locals. He was later arrested and charged for rape (376) and unnatural sex (377) under IPC.
The man is a masonry worker and admitted to have committed the crime under the influence of liquor, police said.
