New notes worth Rs 37.5 lakh seized; five held

The Income Tax officials today seizedRs 37.5 lakh in new currency notes here and five persons were taken into custody in this connection, officials said.

The I-T officials said a trap was laid to bust the racket allegedly involving currency business and seized the amount from them.

They, however, refused to elaborate.

The five persons are being questioned, they said.
