Nickel prices moved up by 0.36 per cent to Rs 1,017.90 per kg in futures trade today on pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market amid a firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in January moved up by Rs 3.70, or 0.36 per cent, to Rs 1,017.90 per kg in business turnover of 2 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in current month gained Rs 2.20, or 0.22 per cent to Rs 1,010.30 per kg in 305 lots.
Market analysts said besides pick-up in demand from consuming industries, a firm trend in the global market led to rise in nickel prices at futures trade.
