Nickel prices were up by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metal market today largely on increased demand from alloy-makers even as the metal strengthened overseas.
Traders said the rise in nickel prices was mostly supported by rising demand at spot markets from alloy-makers but the metal's weakness at the London Metal Exchange (LME) limited the gains.
Meanwhile, nickel for delivery in three months slid 0.4 per cent to USD 15,712 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
