Nicki Minaj goes undercover to watch niece's school play

Rapper Nicki Minaj tried to go incognito as she cheered on her niece at her high school play in New York.

The 33-year-old "Starships" hitmaker covered up in a hooded top and oversized sunglasses as she supported her young relative, Kellise, likely to avoid drawing attention away from the school theatre group.

Minaj later took to Instagram to gush about her niece, as she shared a photo of the pair online.

"My epic niece, Kellise did such an amazing job @ her school play today," she captioned the image.

"S/O (shout out) to all the students @ #JohnAdamsHS in QUEENS. I wish more HS (high school) students spent time doing things like this.
