The blast furnace of Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited (NINL) has produced a single day Hot Metal of 2,307 tonnes yesterday, which is highest in the last two financial years.
The highest single day Hot Metal production in the last financial year (2015-16) was 2,301 tonnes on March 29, 2016, a company release said today.
Execution of the Blast Furnace Capital Repair is planned in the first quarter of the next fiscal (2017-18). After the Capital Repair, Hot Metal production would be more than 3,000 tonnes per day in its rated capacity, it said.
NINL, promoted by MMTC, IPICOL, OMC and other government agencies, has set up an 1.1 million tonne Integrated Iron and Steel plant at Kalinganagar in Odisha.
It is the country's highest exporter of Pig Iron since 2004. Presently the products include Steel Billets, Pig Iron and LAM Coke along with Nut Coke, Coke Breeze, Crude Tar, Ammonium Sulphate and Granulated Slag.
