Justice H C Mishra heard his bail petition and granted him bail.
Ranjan is accused of abetting Delhi-based scribe Nirupama's suicide on April 29, 2010. He had surrendered before a Koderma court on June 5 this year and has since been in judicial remand.
Nirupama's body was found at her parent's house at Chitra Gupta Nagar Colony in Koderma town and Ranjan had accused her family of killing her after allegedly opposing their marriage.
Initially, a case of murder had been filed against Nirupama's mother Sudha Pathak, leading to her arrest. She obtained bail after being in judicial custody for three months.
Police had later said that tests at a forensic laboratory in Kolkata revealed that a suicide note purportedly left behind by Nirupama was signed by the scribe herself and ruled out murder.
