Reacting to Nitish Kumar's statement today that anyone aspiring to be the PM should be sober, BJP said the Bihar Chief Minister himself was "impatient" and using secularism as a "ploy" to conceal corruption.

"It appears that Nitish Kumar is speaking about himself. He is very impatient and is sitting with the corrupt. He is using secularism as a ploy to cover corruption," BJP national spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi said.

She was reacting to Nitish's frontal attack on Modi at the JD(U) convention in Rajgir, where the Bihar CM had compared the BJP's prime ministerial candidate with Hitler.

Attacking the UPA government at Centre and the Bihar government over Sunday's serial blasts in Patna at Modi's rally, Lekhi alleged that Congress leaders were engaged in making "irresponsible" political statements after the blasts.

"Irresponsible political statements are being made from the government side and Congress leaders over the serial blasts in Patna during Modi's rally," she said.

The BJP leader alleged that "basic security protocol" was not followed at the venue of the rally.
