NCP leader and former PWD minister Chhagan Bhujbal has not been given a clean chit in the Maharashtra Sadan scam, state PWD minister Chandrakant Patil said here today.

"No clean chit has been given to Bhujbal. The ACB probe (against Bhujbal) is in progress," Patil told reporters here.

Recently, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis too had denied reports that the senior NCP leader had been exonerated in the scam -- related to the construction of Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi -- by the probe agency.

Earlier, speaking to reporters before entering the ED

office, Bhujbal said, "It is political vendetta...Truth shall prevail. I will cooperate with the ED."

Before Bhujbal's arrival, at least 30 NCP workers were briefly taken into preventive custody outside the ED office here.

Police sources said that around 125 police personnel headed by DCP Zone-I, Manoj Kumar Sharma were present at the spot even as roads leading to the office were barricaded on both sides.
