The Centre has no objection if efforts are made by any civil society group (CCG) to stop violence by militant outfits including NSCN (K), Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said today.

"Some groups approached the Union government that they may be permitted to go to Myanmar to talk to Khaplang. We said that from the civil society side, if there are efforts being made to impress upon any militant groups including NSCN (K) to cease violence, we have no objection," Rijiju told reporters here.

However, he said, that the Union government was not sending team as we are mindful of the violent activities carried out by the NSCN(K) in the last five months.

Rijiju further said that "Manipur situation is quite delicate, but the recent autonomous district council election was successfully conducted. The security situation remains to be seen because normalcy has not returned yet.
