Industrialist Rajiv Sharma was on way back home from his factory in Sector 63 here at 9.30 pm when the incident took place.
"The kidnappers first caused a minor accident by hitting my car which forced me to stop. After which, they overpowered my driver. Sensing trouble I alighted from the car and moved across the road."
Sharma claimed two of the kidnappers tried to push him inside a car at gun-point. However, he raised an alarm which caused some people to stop and come to his rescue.
"Seeing them they ran away," he said.
A case has been registered in the matter and a manhunt launched to nab the kidnappers, police said.
