The National People's Party today approved candidates to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections in Assam from Goalpara and Bokajan constituencies.
Party president P A Sangma, who chaired the Assam state election committee of the party at Delhi, released the names of candidates for the two constituencies in its first list, they said.
NPP spokesperson James K Sangma said Punam Chand Sharma would contest from the Goalpara East seat and Daniel G Momin from Bokajan seat.
He said the second list would be decided at a later meeting.
