Press Trust of India Jammu
The Northern Railway Polyclinic will rotate between Udhampur and Katra every week to provide medical services to both the places, Union minister Jitendra Singh said here today.

A delegation of Northern Railway Mazdoor Union unit from Udhampur, led by its chief Rajesh Kumar Sharma, met the MoS in PMO and sought his intervention over the shifting of the polyclinic, which had been for many years functioning in Udhampur, to Katra from March this year, an official release said.

Asserting that he is aware of the issue and had received a number of representations from the locals as well as from Udhampur MLA Pawan Gupta, Singh said he had taken up the matter with Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.

Following this, the Director General (Health) in ministry has been given appropriate instructions and most likely, orders will be issued next week to make rotational arrangement for the clinic to function in turns at Udhampur and Katra, he said.

Singh also said, a team of Prasar Bharati officials will visit Udhampur shortly to acquire land for setting up a new radio station, the demand for which is pending for a long time.

The Radio Transmitter at Bhaderwah Radio Station will be upgraded and an additional transmitter tower will be set up at Patnitop to improve signal of the station, he added.
On the Opposition's widespread criticism about the

Centre's demonetisation move, the BJP leader said that the parties were devoid of issues and would never succeed to sway the people.

"...They (Opposition) will not succeed for the simple reason that the 130 crore people of this country are convinced with the sincerity, honesty and courage of conviction with which Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken this decision," he said.

Singh said that any kind of allegation devoid of evidence did not merit a response.

"You would see the people are ready to go through certain amount of inconvenience during this transition period and they are whole heartedly welcoming the decision taken by the Prime Minister," he added.
